Alan J. Salzberg, PhD (Statistics)
Alan Salzberg is Senior Statistician and Principal of Salt Hill. Dr. Salzberg's focus is statistical analysis, sampling, estimation, and modeling, especially using large or complex datasets. Many of Dr. Salzberg's consulting projects and research papers have related to the detection and measurement of bias. Dr. Salzberg has testified as an expert witness in statistics in multiple venues. Prior to joining Salt Hill, Alan was CEO at Analysis & Inference. He has also held positions at KPMG (in its Economic Consulting group) and at Morgan Stanley. Dr. Salzberg holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he also received a Bachelor of Science in Economics. Albert J. Lee
Dr. Albert J. Lee is an Affiliate Consultant and frequent teaming partner with Salt Hill. Dr Lee is the Founding Principal and Expert Economist of Summit. He has extensive experience managing consulting engagements involving diverse teams of academic experts, Economists, and other professionals. Dr. Lee is an expert in econometric modeling and statistical sampling. At Summit, Dr. Lee has led a number of econometric, sampling, and program evaluation engagements. He also prepared expert reports and testified in damage estimation cases. Dr. Lee has lectured graduate- and undergraduate-level economics, statistics, and econometrics at UCLA, Columbia University, and George Washington University. He received his Ph.D. in economics from UCLA, and a B.A. in economics and mathematics from the University of Southern California.
Ira L. Skop
Ira Skop is an Affiliate Consultant at Salt Hill and a partner at Shelter Island Risk Services. Ira provides advanced data analytics to corporations, with particular emphasis on risk management. A recognized leader in risk data consulting and an expert in data visualization, Ira teaches frequent workshops on using analytical software tools to solve everyday business problems. Previously, he worked as a regional director, technical service manager, and product manager for Risk Sciences Group, a leading provider of risk management information systems. Ira received his BA in Computer Science from Columbia University, and stays continually tuned in to developments in the rapidly changing world of data science.
Richard F. Denning, MS, MBA, JD
Rick Denning is an Affiliate Consultant at Salt Hill and the founder and president of Shelter Island Risk Services, an independent provider of risk management technology solutions. Rick has developed and teaches innovative workshops in analytics for risk professionals for the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS). Rick was previously president of Risk Sciences Group, a leading provider of risk management information systems. Earlier in his career, he was a senior executive at Anistics (acquired by Aon). Rick holds a J.D. degree from Fordham Law School, an MBA from New York University, an MS in Statistics from New York University, and a BS in Metallurgy from Case Western Reserve University. He is a member of the New York State Bar, and has a Certified Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation. He is author of over 30 professional publications and is a popular speaker and educator on risk management information topics.
